Installing the Kbase search autokey
- Start the Autokey application via the Applications > Accessories > Autokey menu item.
- Locate the autokey icon in the task bar and left-click on it to expand the context menu:
choose "Show Main Window."
- Create a "New Script" in the Autokey Main Window:
- Name the script (anything you want):
- Copy and paste this script into the new script's window. It should look exactly like this:
Don't forget to delete "# Enter script code" (Autokey has this in the window whenever you create a new script.)
- Now it's time to setup the hotkey:
6.1) Click on the Set button, this will open the Set Hotkey dialog.
6.2) Click on the "Press to set" button, after clicking the next button you press on your keyboard will be assigned to that autokey script. I suggest using these buttons on the Microsoft keyboards:
6.3) Save your changes and close the Main Autokey Window.
To use the script, highlight any text on your screen and press the button you assigned to the script, it will open a dialog that has whatever you had highlighted last in it, press return or click OK for your search to open in a new tab.
